Indoor football tournaments

Indoor football tournaments are perfect for the winter season, when outdoor pitches can be hard to use. In gyms and sports halls children and youth can play football all year – typically in 3v3 and 5v5 formats that are a perfect fit for the smaller spaces.

Indoor football develops players' technique, speed and decision-making, as the game is faster and played in tighter spaces. Find indoor tournaments near you on Matchbase and keep your players going all winter.

Indoor football in gyms and sports halls is markedly different from outdoor football on grass. The ball moves faster on the hall's hard floor, distances are shorter and so each player gets more ball contact. The rules are typically adapted to the hall – for example the throw-in is replaced by a kick-in, and there is no offside. For players in U6–U10, indoor football is perfect for improving technique and reaction speed in a fast, intense setting.
